Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the Watermelon Industry. Our priorities include effective communications with our members through The Vineline magazine and website (nationalwatermelonassociation.com), search for solutions to grower disease & farming issues, legislation in Washington that effect our industry (Farm Bill and Immigration Reform), promotions through our National Watermelon Queen program, creating new uses and markets for watermelon (ethanol), and providing “VALUE” in all that we do for our members.
Membership in the Association is the first step toward sharing your experience and expertise, which will allow us to be successful for you. Membership benefits include:
- Annual subscription to The Vineline magazine
- Reduced member-only fees at Watermelon Conventions
- Access to member-only sections of the NWA web site
- Opportunity to serve on NWA committees, participate in events, etc.
- Choice to get involved, and make a difference for the industry at the chapter and national levels
The purpose of the National Watermelon Association (NWA) is to promote the best interests of the Watermelon Industry from production to consumption. The NWA, in conjunction with its ten (10) state chapter associations, is constantly seeking improvements in the growing, grading, handling, transportation, distribution, food safety, and sale of watermelon We request that you join us in this endeavor by becoming a member of the NWA through the Western Watermelon Association chapter, representing the industry in ten western states, plus parts of Mexico.
We are looking for farmers, packers, shippers and suppliers that will share their experience, expertise, and knowledge to help us make a difference in our industry, the Watermelon Industry.
The Western Chapter will join together in mid-January for a two-day convention to select chapter leadership, ByLaws and program development. Member input is vital to this effort, and we are hopeful that you will share your experience to create the chapter’s work plan.
A membership application is available to you below, and we hope that you will join us as we strive to make our industry stronger for all involved. Thank You.
